Petén Guide
Walfre worked for 12 seasons with the
Nakum Yaxhá Archaeological Project, before starting out on his own as a guide. He
is a very earnest young fellow, whom some called "Doble", because he worked twice as
hard as anyone else on my 2008 trip. He made a point of trying to find the
English word to identify for a particular animal or bird, and any of the many
times there was any hacking through vegetation, he was in the thick of it.
Walfre is currently working on learning English and he can already understand some of it.
He currently is leading trips to El Mirador and plans to
branch out in the future.
His prices to El Mirador are:
Walking trip (just includes guide, pack mules, food, water and hammocks
and
mosquito nets. If you want a tent, bring your own mat ):

Note that with a deposit, he will set up a one person trip for a particular date,
